FraggleRock.jpgFraggle Rock was, for my friends and I, the end of the Muppets. It was the Saturday afternoon Muppet show that just was too young and didn't hit the spot. For me the Muppets were gone. Hollywood don't agree (and you probably won't either!) as they are bringing a Fraggle Rock film to our screens.

The announcement was made by Lisa Henson from the Jim Henson Company and is carried on Coming Soon:

The untitled film will for the first time take Gobo, Wembley, Mokey, Boober and Red on an adventure outside of Fraggle Rock where they will interact with the strange beings in "outer space" (also known as humans). The treatment is being written by author Ahmet Zappa (The Monstrous Memoirs of a Mighty McFearless)

There's lot's of talk about how great it is to do this and so on, and so on...but for me there's nothing exciting here. I'd rather see another Muppet movie, a proper Muppet movie, and not something that represents the flagging of the Henson creations.

I really hope that this doesn't impact in the slightest on the Dark Crystal film, The Power of the Dark Crystal.
