Series: One of the things I like about anime is that it allows the creative spirit to roam as far as possible without physical limitations like so-called "live action" movies do. While computer generated imaging (CGI) has helped bridge the gap between the two forms of entertainment, anime still has the ability to push further in telling a story, albeit within the confines of whatever budget is allotted to a particular show. That said, one of my favorite series in recent months has been one based on a story written by Alexandre Dumas hundreds of years ago, with the last volume being Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo V6.
