Lanyrinth (1986)

Ive seen a lot of fantasy films in my life time, but nothing quite stirs the imagination as well as a good Jim Henson film. And of all of Hensons magnificent movies, Labyrinth tops my own personal charts. This film truly feels like a fairy tale brought to life, with endless creativity and a scope which goes beyond limits.

Sarah (Jennifer Conelly) is a spoiled rotton teenage girl who loves fairy tales. One night, her parents ask her to stay and watch her baby brother, Toby, while they go out. Sarah throws a fit, frustrated that she has to spend her free time looking over her brother. In anger, she recites words from one of her favorite fairy tales, and wishes the Goblin King would come and take her brother away. The Goblin King, Jareth (David Bowie!), does indeed arrive and spirits little Toby away to his dark castle just beyond the Goblin

Childs Play 2

Is it bad that a horror series peaked by its second installment then went on to make three more films? Possibly, though not every Childs Play fan will agree with me. Personally, I find Childs Play 2 to be the best episode in the saga of Chucky: the Killer Doll, and while the follow-up installments may have their charm, they just cant compare to this truly superior sequel.

Following the events of the first film, everyone thinks Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent) is completely mental. His Mother, who supported his claim that his Good Guy doll was possessed by Charles Chucky Lee Ray (Brad Dourif), the Lakeshor Strangler, and tried to possess is his body, is tossed in a nuthouse and poor little Andy is sent to live with a foster family. Meanwhile, the corporation which produces

Need another Spider-Man 3 fix before the Summer 2007 release date? Well, the new trailer will be premiering on Mtv during the Real World/Road Rules Challenge: the Duel on November 9th. Yes, yes, I know. Sitting through an episode of Real World/Road Rules is like jamming in icepick through your skull, but it’s for Spider-Man.

Well, if you don’t want to suffer through more Mtv garbage to see the trailer, you can always wait until November 17th and catch it during the trailers for Casino Royale, the new James Bond flick. Orrrrr you can You Tube it. Whichever.

Dragonball Z movie 7: Super Android 13!

DBZ 7

Super Android 13 doesnt appear to be one of the more popular Dragonball Z films, though its one of my personal favorites in a guilty pleasure sort of way. I find it rather underrated and enjoy it mostly for the reasons people seem to hate it. Super Android 13 is cheesier than other Dragonball Z films (if you can comprehend that), but at the same time its pretty self-aware that its so goofy. Its not one of the best installments in the series, but I always have a fun time watching it.

The mad Dr. Gero of the Red Ribbon Army may be dead, but his evil lives on within a super computer of his own design. The computer crafts three new killer robots, Androids 13, 14 and 15, respectively. Their primary function: Kill Goku. The androids waste little time tracking Goku down and quickly engage him in a fierce battle. Gokus

Batman (1989)

Batman 1989

Batman fans owe a lot to Tim Burtons live action blockbuster film. It returned Batman to his dark and brooding roots in the eyes of the general public (hed been getting darker in the comics since the 70s, but the general public doesnt read comics). It also sparked enough interest in Batman for Bruce Timm and Paul Dini to craft one of the greatest pieces of Batman fiction ever conceived: Batman the Animated Series. As for the film itself, while dated to a degree and despite getting a few Batman fundamentals wrong, Tim Burtons Batman remains one of the best adaptations of the character out there.

Gotham City is a cesspool of crime and violence. The police department is so overwhelmed and corrupt they cant even hope to put a dent in all the wrong-doing. However, criminals are a superstitious and cowardly lot, and word has begun
